My mama on her 60th birthday.

11.05am, 15 May 2013, Skypark - Subang Airport.

It’s mama 60th birthday today. I think, she looks pretty awesome for a 60 yrs old, she still 1 size smaller than me, (okay.. maybe she’s 2 size smaller, but im in denial here!..hehe) and she have that killer smile, that beautiful nose and eyebrows.

My mama is one tough lady. She may be petite, but she stronger than she look.reason i'm saying so? She take care of us kids still.. (including me, at this age!) for example, almost everyday she cook dinner for us, do house chores (sometimes help out with cleaning my crib as well) and care for her first grandchild. Eventho she’s tired by isya’ time.. she never complaints.

My mama is the first born of 8 siblings. Since young age, she helped my grandma with house chores (back in the 50’s life was hard) and baby sit her brothers and sisters. Throughout her life, she sacrifices a lot for her family. I remember a story where she choose not to further her study (even when she got an offer) & decide to start working instead, right after high school so that her younger siblings have better opportunity & also shes able to help the family, financially. She didn’t earn much as a clerk, but it’s still a big help to my grandparents.

My mama is a simple woman. simple and practical.live by what she have. She’s full of love, she always prioritize other’s first before herself. She teach us about honesty, values, trust, making mistakes, forgiveness, 2nd chances & never give up. She’s always the one who lift up my spirit when I’m feeling down. Her soothing words really heal the wounds.

There’s so many great, awesome quality of her that I would love to share and tell.. but not enough words can really describe how wonderful my mom really is. I’m blessed and lucky to have her as my mom, best friend, as my pillar of strength. We don’t have much, materially, but I have enough (more than enough actually..) just by having her around, healthy and by my side always.

On her birthday today, I wanna wish her a very happy birthday, and may Allah bless you with great health, and happiness always.

My indefinite thank you for all that you have done for us kids, and if I'm ever a millionaire one day (..in syaa Allah!) - no gold, or mountain of money can ever I repay you for what you have given us.

I love you mama. You are my heartbeat, half of my soul. Happy 60th birthday!!

Bad breath and the cure.

Assalam and Good day,
Happy monday (blues) everyone and im early today at work. Did some reading online and decide to share :D hope its benefit us..

the article are taken from : www.therabreath.com and http://myhealthlist.net

Just how bad is your breath? See for yourself if your breath is offensive!

How can I test my own breath?

Did you know that it is impossible to smell your own breath by cupping your hand up to your nose and smelling? All you are doing is smelling your hand.
Your body is designed in such a manner that it doesn’t allow you to detect your own odor by just breathing into your hand. It's a human process called Acclimation which is necessary so that you are able to smell other things besides yourself.

The best way to check is with a HALIMETER at your dentist office, if they are set up for breath testing - however there are a number of tests you can do at home that can indicate if you may have offensive breath- and they cost you nothing.

Here are a few effective ways to test your own breath at home:

1. The Cotton Test: Wipe the top surface of your tongue with a piece of cotton gauze and smell it. This is probably the most honest way. Also, if you notice a yellowish stain on the cotton, it's likely that you have an elevated sulfide production level.

2. The Lick Test: Lick the back of your hand. Let that dry for about 10 seconds and then smell. If you notice an odor, you may have a breath disorder because the sulfur salts from your tongue have been transferred to your hand. <----- tried and i found this very helpful!!!

3. The Dental Floss Test: Run a piece of dental floss between your back teeth (this is the mostly likely place where you may get food caught) and then smell the floss. This may be an indication of the level of odors others detect.

4. The Mirror Test: Stand in front of the mirror and stick your tongue out as far as possible. If you notice that the very back of your tongue is whitish, it may be a sign that you have bad breath.

5. The Observation Test: Judge the reaction of others when you interact with them. After using TheraBreath products, our patients tell us that they are no longer offered gum and mints and people no longer step away from them. It has significantly changed their confidence and improved their lives.

6. The Ask Test: Ask the opinion of someone you can trust (a good friend, a spouse, even your kids). Ask them to check your breath several times daily because breath changes throughout the day.

7. The Diet Test: If certain foods alter your taste, it is a good sign that sulfur compounds are being produced. This usually happens after using alcohol based mouthwashes, eating dairy foods, drinking alcoholic beverages, or after eating sugary products (Altoids, candy, Pepsi, etc.)

Tips to Cure Bad Breath

Usually bad breath is caused by the bacteria forming in the mouth, which is also responsible for causing inflammation. Studies reveal that 80% of the bad breaths take place due to some oral factors such as, gum disease, cavities, unclean dentures, food particles trapped in tonsils and cracked fillings. Conditions like acid reflux, respiratory tract infections, liver disease and diabetes can also contribute to bad breath.

The remedies :

Salt or Lemon Rinse
Salt rinse is the oldest and one of the most effective remedies for curing bad breath. Not only it kills the bacteria in the mouth but it is beneficial for curing gum infections. All you require, to make this natural mouth wash is half cup of warm water and ½ teaspoon of salt, mix them well until it becomes a clear solution and rinse your mouth with it before going to bed. Within a few days you will find your gums turning more pink, showing a sign of good oral health. This will also help you get rid of the bad breath.

You can also substitute lemon with salt to make this mouth wash. Lemon inhibits bacteria formation in the gums and tongue.

Baking Soda
You may have heard of baking powder as an effective teeth whitener. Good news is that it is also effective for curing bad breath. You can either use a toothpaste containing baking soda or dissolve some baking soda in warm water and gargle with this solution. Baking soda halts odor causing bacteria formation in the mouth.

Sun Flower Seeds and Mint leaves
Sun flower seeds and mint leaves work in two ways, first they help cleanse the mouth and second they spread fresh scent in the mouth. You can either chew on fresh mint leaves or eat some sunflower seeds with a glass of water, both will remove away the bad breath from your mouth. Eat Yogurt
Yogurt contains probiotics like acidophilus, which are very beneficial for removing bad breath. Yogurt, rich in good bacteria cures bad breath in few seconds, but make sure you consume it every day. It also stops the growth of odor causing bacteria.

Stay away from Sugar
Do not take foods containing refined sugar as they cause cavities and leave a bad breath in your mouth. Avoid eating candies, cookies and other sweet treats containing sugar. You can use brown sugar instead.

Drink water or Pineapple Juice
Can there be a more simple way to cure bad breath than water? Water helps keep your mouth and stomach hydrated, which prevents bacteria formation and as a result you do not develop bad breath.

Pineapple juice is also very effective, because of its high acidic content it keeps the bacteria away from your gums and tongue. Unsweetened tea when consumed hot can also be of great help.

Fenugreek Tea
An herb called fenugreek is also a good remedy for bad breath. Take 1teaspoon of fenugreek seeds and simmer in 2 cups of water for15 minutes. Strain this tea before consumption.

Cure Constipation
If constipation is your problem then there are chances that you might have a bad breath. Regular bowl movements are a must for curing bad breath. Take foods high in fiber and exercise regularly to prevent constipation.

Cloves and Cardamom
The aromatic seeds of cardamom are very helpful in keeping bad breath away. Cloves are equally good for removal of bad breath. Cloves can also protect you from toothaches, oral ulcers and sore gums.

Focus on Oral Hygiene
Maintaining your oral hygiene is the starting point to get rid of bad breath. Brush twice a day with toothpaste that doesn’t make the mouth dry. Floss is also very helpful in keeping bad breath away so floss your teeth after every meal.

Gargling with mouthwash can temporarily solve the problem but it is not effective for longer periods. It is better that you target the root of the problem. Also visit your dentist after every six months.

Neda Ukraden - Zora je

Salaam,
it has been a very hectic and busy week. i have no time to write, to really think of what to write.. too tired. decided to go light on blog post content, and thought of sharing this song, i've been listening too, alot.. since i came back from my great europe summer adventure last year.

the first time i heard it, we was on the way to this place on the mountain in Slovenia, called Kobarid. The 3 of us, Dario on the wheel, Barbara next to him, driving for hours.. the winding road, the sunny-hot summer and me enjoying the view from the back seat.. and suddenly the song was on air, and Barbara start to sing along and i, humming to the melody that very foreign, yet.. touch my heart, right away.. like love at first sight.

Apparently, this is an old old song.. by  Neda Ukraden, a famous singer across all of the former Yugoslavia, shes a Croatian, i think.. ( Barbara, correct me if im wrong okay.. )

Barbara explain to me the meaning of the song and understand the reason why it goes straight to me & and stuck inside.. Sad song does that alot huh!!?

Anyway, i love the song and its always reminds me of the good summer vacations & places i've been. Every time i feel a bit low, or thinking about traveling, or thinking of my fellow friends back in Europe.. i will play this song.. again and again and again :)  a good reminder and makes me feel slightly better.

OneWorld Hotel review

5-7 April 2013

Salaam,
Here's a quick post on my awesome weekend well spend at One world hotel last week.

Errk, cerita Melbourne trip, nanti dulu ya. Gambar belum habis with selection process.

Last year, in August, i was selected as one of the winner for a photo contest in one of the travel Magazine and the prize is a 2 night stay at the lxurious  Executive Suite One World Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

The Hotel located next to One Utama shopping mall ( attached, actually) and basically only 15min from where i live (hahahaha!) but who cares, right..? the distance is actually good. i dont hv to drive far to enjoy the weekend,..yes?

The room located on the top floor of the hotel, and a gorgeous one. I invited my parents to stay with me the first night,  so they came on friday night and stay until Saturday evening. My SIL and niece, YadaRania came at noon to join us for some shopping spree and lunch. My friend Ms.D  come over on Saturday afternoon to accompany me on the 2nd night., and we wrapped up Sunday with ridiculously awesome breakfast and window shopping at the mall.

here's the pictures of our great weekend..

last shot : Picture taken before we dig in into huge breakfast on Sunday. It has been a splendid weekend well spend with my dear family and friend.

till next post, take care and be good...  :P

What A Burglar Would Never Tell You

22 Things A Burglar Would Never Tell You

1. Of course I look familiar. I was here just last week cleaning your carpets, painting your shutters, or delivering your new refrigerator.
2. Hey, thanks for letting me use the bathroom when I was working in your yard last week. While I was in there, I unlatched the back window to make my return a little easier.

3. Love those flowers. That tells me you have taste… and taste means there are nice things inside. Those yard toys your kids leave out always make me wonder what type of gaming system they have.

4. Yes, I really do look for newspapers piled up on the driveway. And I might leave a pizza flyer in your front door to see how long it takes you to remove it..

5. If it snows while you’re out of town, get a neighbor to create car and foot tracks into the house. Virgin drifts in the driveway are a dead giveaway.

6. If decorative glass is part of your front entrance, don’t let your alarm company install the control pad where I can see if it’s set. That makes it too easy.

7. A good security company alarms the window over the sink. And the windows on the second floor, which often access the master bedroom – and your jewelry. It’s not a bad idea to put motion detectors up there too.

8. It’s raining, you’re fumbling with your umbrella, and you forget to lock your door – understandable. But understand this: I don’t take a day off because of bad weather.

9. I always knock first. If you answer, I’ll ask for directions somewhere or offer to clean your gutters. (Don’t take me up on it.)

10. Do you really think I won’t look in your sock drawer? I always check dresser drawers, the bedside table, and the medicine cabinet.

11. Here’s a helpful hint: I almost never go into kids’ rooms.

12. You’re right: I won’t have enough time to break into that safe where you keep your valuables. But if it’s not bolted down, I’ll take it with me.

13. A loud TV or radio can be a better deterrent than the best alarm system. If you’re reluctant to leave your TV on while you’re out of town, you can buy a $35 device that works on a timer and simulates the flickering glow of a real television.

14. Sometimes, I carry a clipboard. Sometimes, I dress like a lawn guy and carry a rake. I do my best to never, ever look like a crook.

15. The two things I hate most: loud dogs and nosy neighbors.

16. I’ll break a window to get in, even if it makes a little noise. If your neighbor hears one loud sound, he’ll stop what he’s doing and wait to hear it again. If he doesn’t hear it again, he’ll just go back to what he was doing. It’s human nature.

17. I’m not complaining, but why would you pay all that money for a fancy alarm system and leave your house without setting it?

18. I love looking in your windows. I’m looking for signs that you’re home, and for flat screen TVs or gaming systems I’d like. I’ll drive or walk through your neighborhood at night, before you close the blinds, just to pick my targets.

19. Avoid announcing your vacation on your Facebook page. It’s easier than you think to look up your address.

20. To you, leaving that window open just a crack during the day is a way to let in a little fresh air. To me, it’s an invitation.

21. If you don’t answer when I knock, I try the door. Occasionally, I hit the jackpot and walk right in.

22. Put your car keys beside your bed at night. If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car. The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies. Next time you come home for the night and you start to put your keys away, think of this: It’s a security alarm system that you probably already have and requires no installation. Test it. It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and will keep honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key fob chain. It works if you park in your driveway or garage. If your car alarm goes off when someone is trying to break into your house, odds are the burglar rapist won’t stick around… After a few seconds all the neighbors will be looking out their windows to see who is out there and sure enough the criminal won’t want that. And remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in a parking lot. The alarm can work the same way there also. This is something that should really be shared with everyone. Maybe it could save a life or a sexual abuse crime. Would also be useful for any emergency, such as a heart attack, where you can’t reach a phone. This is a really good idea. You could leave the spare key fob or remote button next to your bed permanently. Definitely, this is something to pass on to your family and friends as a security tip.

20 Important LIFE LESSONS that will drastically Improve your life! ..

1. Spend more time with those who make you smile and less time with those who you feel pressured to impress.

2. Never tell someone their dreams are impossible. You’ll feel like a fool when they prove you wrong.

3. If a person wants to be a part of your life, they will make an obvious effort to do so. Don’t bother reserving a space in your heart for people who do not make an effort to stay.

4. One of the hardest lessons in life to learn is figuring out which bridges to cross and which to burn.

5. There’s always some truth behind ‘just kidding,’ knowledge behind ‘I don’t know,’ emotion behind ‘I don’t care,’ and pain behind: ‘It’s okay.’ So pay close attention to how people feel.

6. You never know how strong you really are until being strong is the only choice you have.

7. In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take, relationships we were afraid to have, and the decisions we waited too long to make.

8. Too many people buy things they don’t need with money they don’t have to impress people they don’t know.

9. The best thing in life is finding someone who knows about all your flaws and still thinks you’re completely amazing.

10. Nobody is perfect, and nobody deserves to be perfect. Nobody has it easy, everybody has issues. You never know what people are going through. So pause before you start judging, criticizing, or mocking others. Everybody is fighting their own unique war.

11. Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

12. The best revenge is happiness, because nothing drives your adversaries more insane than seeing you smiling and living a good life.

13. Fall in love when you’re ready, not when you’re lonely.

14. Stand up for what you believe in, even if it means standing alone.

15. No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress, you are still way ahead of everyone who isn’t trying.

16. Pursuing happiness by acquiring material things (fancy cars, expensive jewelry, designer clothing) is like jogging to the grocery store on your treadmill: it won’t get you anywhere.

17. Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.

18. Life is way more enjoyable when you stop trying to be cool and simply focus on being yourself.

19. If you want to feel rich, just count all the great things you have that money can’t buy.

20. Embrace change. As uncomfortable as it is sometimes, change allows us to stretch and grow. New things feel awkward and scary at first, but those feelings go away, and you are left with something bigger and bolder in your life.
